The Guild of New Hampshire Woodworkers has established a private on-line forum for GNHW members in conjunction with the Sawmill Creek Woodworking Forums. Access to the private Guild forum is available to all GNHW members who have properly registered at Sawmill Creek and identified themselves as GNHW members. This on-line forum provides a convenient way for guild members to communicate with each other and to stay up to date on the latest happenings in the Guild. There is also an on-line calendar included in the forums where the latest guild schedules will be posted. Messages can be posted on the forum for all members to see, or members can utilize the private messaging capabilities to communicate with other registered members. In addition to the private guild forum, there are several general interest forums available for viewing and posting by all Sawmill Creek members.
In order to utilize the features of the GNHW on-line forum at Sawmill Creek, you must first register with sawmill Creek. Sawmill Creek forums are moderated forums (there is oversight of the content posted - in the case of the Guild forum, moderators are Dave Anderson and Roger Myers). The registration process is easy and requires little information from you. The first step is to access the main Sawmill Creek website at www.sawmillcreek.org. When you arrive at the home page of Sawmill Creek you will see a listing of woodworking forums, and you will shown as a "guest". The GNHW forum will not be visible to you at this time. You will also see a registration icon. Click the registration icon to begin the registration process. You will be asked for your real first and last name when you register. Sawmill Creek does not permit the use of pseudonyms or anonymous postings as these are the source of a great deal of inappropriate content on other forums. After completing the simple registration process, be sure to review the Sawmill Creek Terms of Service (TOS). These are the basic guidelines and protocol for posting on these forums. Once registered, one more step is required in order for you to have access to the private GNHW forum. You will need to send a PM (private message) to Aaron Koehl identifying yourself as a guild member and Aaron will set your permissions so that you can now see the GNHW forum. This may take a day or two. To send Aaron a private message, click on the "members" icon that is near the top of the page and select Aaron's name from the list. You will then see a profile page for Aaron, and included on the page is a link to send Aaron a private message.
Now that you have registered and identified yourself as a GNHW member, log in to Sawmill Creek and you should now be able to see the private guild forum! You will have the ability to post messages, respond to other postings, post pictures, view the calendar, and add events to the calendar. I encourage you to check back frequently and to be a contributor to both the Guild's private forum as well as the general sawmill Creek forums.
