Multi-Axis Turning
Traditional woodturnings are done with the object mounted on the lathe, along a single axis. This session will explore some of the possibilities which occur by turning on multiple axes. Topics will include practical applications, such as furniture legs, as well as several fun and whimsical creations.
Charlie has been turning wood for over 30 years. He is a professor in the Technology, Design and Safety Department at Keene State College, where he teaches classes in woodworking and residential construction. He describes himself as a generalist turner, enjoying the breadth of opportunities the lathe presents. Recently he has been concentrating on production spindle turning, primarily stair components. He has demonstrated at every NE Turning Symposium!
