I started a woodturning program at Hillsboro-Deering High School in 2019.  Hillsboro is a blue collar town with limited funds.  But, thanks to the generosity of Guild members and a small  budget from the school, we now have two mini lathes, woodturning tools, a sharpening system and assorted accessories.  The kids have loved the program.
A Guild member recently donated a 14" Jet bandsaw to the school, but the motor is burned out and not repairable.  Ideally, we would like a 1 HP, 1725 RPM, 5/8" shaft, 110 volt electric motor with overload protection.  Probably 56 Frame.
Please contact Lou Yelgin at lou.yelgin@gmail.com if you have a motor that approximately meets those specifications and would like to donate it to the school.  Thank you very much.
