In case you missed it, the Boston Sunday Globe printed an excellent article in the Address Section on trees that are heat tolerant, and will be successful in the Climate change environment. The suggestion below are offered by John DelRosso, head arborist at the Harvard Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain, Ma.

Granite State Woodturners Meeting Plans—April 2020
GSWT members have been invited to join the Seacoast Woodturners Club on Thursday, April 16 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm for a remote demonstration by Mike Mahoney. Mike is famous for his simple but quickly turned utility bowls.

The PFG subgroup is looking into doing virtual GoToMeeting learning presentations for our subgroup members. It is unfortunate for some and an opportunity for others that this has to be done. There are some real advantages to doing this. However the content of our sessions is very much about the "details" of a process and some of this content will be lost in the internet bandwidth.

The Boatbuilding Subgroup was once again drawn to the Maine woods to the shop of Bill Thomas Woodworking. Bill is an accomplished designer and builder of boats plus a fine teacher. He started with showing us how select and interpret boat plans.

Student Woodturning Competition a Stunning Success!
Holy WOW! Sixty (60!) students enjoyed a terrific woodturning day-out-of-school, complete with contemporary and traditional woodworking demonstrations, a farm tour and lots and lots of prizes!

1. After removing the bent laminated demilune table apron from the mold, Owain removes the sharp bumps of dried glue with a belt sander. The glue is too hard for saw blades or router bits.
