Nick will demonstrate carving a crotchwood project. He will discuss the challenges with crotchwood and the possibilities this unique part of a tree presents. He will show how to capture figured wood in larger pieces as well as utilizing the live edge to enhance projects.
Nick Rosato has been turning for ten years. He focuses on decorative green wood turning and once turned salad bowls. He is the president of the Woodchuck Woodturners of Northern Vermont, a group from which he has learned most of what he knows about woodturning. He teaches woodturning through his own shop and a few venues around northern Vermont. He is most interested in exploring tree grain patterns and the interplay between natural and carved elements
